UNIVERSITY OF MALAWI INVITES APPLICATIONS FOR NON RESIDENTIAL DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES

The University of Malawi invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to enroll into non-residential Diploma programmes which are scheduled to commence at the Polytechnic campus in Balantyre in August 2018. Each Diploma programme takes a minimum of three years to complete.

 

 

A. FACULTY OF ENGINEERING

 

Programme Name

  1. Diploma in Mining Engineering

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  1. MSCE with six credits including English, Mathematics and Physical Science; or
  2. A-level with at least a C in English, Mathematics and Physics or Chemistry;

  1. Diploma in Metallurgy and Mineral Processing
  1. Diploma in Electronics and Computer Engineering
  1. Diploma in Telecommunications and Electronics Engineering
  1. Diploma in Automobile Engineering
  1. Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
  1. Diploma in Fabrication and Welding Engineering
  1. Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering
  1. Diploma in Civil Engineering
  1. Diploma in Biomedical Engineering
  1. MSCE or O-Level with six credits including English, Mathematics, Physical Science and Biology; or
  2. A-level with at least a C in English, Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry and Biology.

 

B.    FACULTY OF APPLIED SCIENCES

 
  1. Diploma in Industrial

Laboratory Technology
  1. An MSCE or O level with 6 credits including Physical Science or General Science, Biology, Mathematics and English. Or
  2. A level with at least a C in Biology, Chemistry or Physics.
  1. Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health
  1. MSCE or O-Level with six credits including English, Mathematics, Physical Science or General Science and Biology. Or
  2. A-Level with at least a C in English, Mathematics, Physics for entry in year 1

 

D. FACULTY OF BUILT ENVIRONMENT

14.Diploma in Quantity Surveying
  1. MSCE or O-Level with six credits including English, Mathematics and Physical Science or General science, or
  2. A-level with at least a C in English, Mathematics and Physics or Chemistry.

 
  1. Diploma in Land Economy
  1. Diploma in Land Surveying
  1. Diploma in Construction Technology

E.  FACULTY OF EDUCATION AND MEDIA STUDIES
  1. Diploma in Journalism
  1. MSCE (O-Level) with 6 credits including English and
     Mathematics. Those with the relevant work experience                       in the media industry shall have an added advantage.
    Or
  2. MSCE (O-Level) with at least four credits including English and Mathematics and a Certificate in Journalism plus at least two years relevant work experience in the media industry. Candidates will be admitted into Year 2.

Each programme will run only when adequate numbers of students are enrolled.
