2016/17 SECOND GRADUATION ON 28 MARCH 2019

University of Malawi will on Wednesday 28 March 2018 hold its second congregation for 2016/2017 graduands at Chancellor College’s Great Hall in Zomba from 7:30am.

Vice-Chancellor, Professor John D. Kalenga Saka, will preside over the ceremony on behalf of the Chancellor of the University who is also the President of the country, Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika.

According to the University Registrar’s office in Zomba 61 graduands will be awarded with post graduate certificates after they successfully defended their theses while 539 graduands will be awarded undergraduate certificates.

The Polytechnic will predominantly graduate more students than other colleges with a total of 520 graduands since the Senate of the University that approves the exam final results had not yet met at the time Unima had its first 2016/17 congregation on 21 February 2018.

Bunda College of Agriculture formerly a constituent college of University of Malawi but delinked in 2011 which later merged with Natural Resources College to form the current Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (Luanar) will be part of this month’s congregation for its remnant students who were previously admitted under the Unima banner .

Statistically, Kamuzu College of Nursing will graduate 19 graduands while College of Medicine, Chancellor College, and Bunda College of Agriculture will have 6, 9 and 36 postgraduates respectively.
