The Chancellor of the University of Malawi, President Arthur Peter Mutharika has appointed a new UNIMA council. The council is chaired by Dr. James Maida with Mrs Videlias Mluwira and Prof. Lewis Mughogho as members. Two more members will be appointed by the Council itself. Also forming part of the council are principals of the four colleges of UNIMA, four UNIMA Senate representatives, two UNIMA students’ representatives, one representative of the UNIMA alumni community, the vice chancellor of UNIMA, Secretary for Education, Science and Technology, Secretary to Treasury, Secretary for Human Resource Management and Development (co-opted) and Comptroller of Statutory Corporations (co-opted). According to the press release dated 22 June 2017 and signed by Lloyd Muhara, the appointments are with immediate effect.
