… Invites University of Limpopo
The University of Malawi Staff Sports Association (UMSSA) will from 21 July 2017 host two-day inter-college/university games at College of Medicine Sports Complex. Normally these games only involve local participants. However, this time around, UMSSA has invited the University of Limpopo from South Africa to be part of the social sport gathering for university staff. Local participants include, the four constituent colleges of the University of Malawi (Chancellor College, College of Medicine, Kamuzu College of Nursing and the Polytechnic), Malawi University of Science and Technology and Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR). According to UMSSA secretary general, Thokozani Bodza-Mbewe, the University of Limpopo was invited upon their request. However, Mbodza-Mbewe emphasized that the invitation is also aimed at enhancing the relationship between UMSSA and Limpopo. “We think it is important that as universities we should be able to interact even outside the annual Southern Africa Universities Staff Sports Association (AUSSA) games. We should be able to invite each other and interact at that level”, he said.
